Prototyphis angasi
(Crosse, 1863)

Distribution: Common throughout the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Restricted to Australia and New Zealand. In Australia recorded from Caloundra in Queensland south to southern Western Australia and including Tasmania.

Ecological Notes: Frequents rocky shores, beneath ledges and rocks, from low tide level to several hundred metres depth.

Additional Notes: Shells small with three winged varices per whorl. Columella and outer lip of aperture smooth, shell colour variable from uniformly white through pink and orange to dark brown. Grows to 25 mm, often only 15 mm.
