Diminovula whitworthi
(Cate, 1973)

Distribution: Uncommon in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Known from Papua New Guinea and New Caledonia. In Australia recorded from the Northern Territory and northern New South Wales.

Ecological Notes: Only found on host soft corals, specimen here pictured on Dendronephthya sp. soft coral at a depth of 18 m.

Additional Notes: Members of this family feed and lay their eggs on the host soft coral and due to their outstanding camouflage are rarely seen. Specimen in top photograph around 18 mm in length.
