Amoria zebra 
(Leach, 1814)

Distribution: Common at inshore areas of the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Endemic to Australia. recorded from north of Mackay in Queensland south to Sydney, New South Wales.

Ecological Notes: Found in shallow water with sandy areas. Intertidal in sand to a depth of 55 m.

Additional Notes: Variable colour pattern, usually axial brown lines on a fawn background but unmarked white or golden shells appear in some localities. Grows to 70 mm but usually 30 – 50 mm.
