Three interpretive panels, depicting the marine animals and birds found in and around the Coffs Harbour International Marina have recently been installed. A joint project between SURG and Marina management, the panel layout was designed by long-time SURG member Bob Edgar, and they are mounted at intervals along the boardwalk in the marina precinct below the northern breakwall leading to Muttonbird Island. The concept is the culmination of marine debris clean-ups and species diversity surveys conducted by SURG members in the marina and it is hoped the panels will enable visitors to the Marina to have a greater understanding of the diversity that exists in this area.
