Trygonorrhina fasciata

Common Name: Fiddler Ray

Distribution: Common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed along the East Coast of Australia from southern Queensland to southern New South Wales and possibly Victoria and the Great Australian Bight in South Australia.

Ecological Notes: Frequents coastal bays and inshore areas with sandy bottoms or seagrass, often near rocky reefs. Depths to 180 m.

Additional Notes: This species is recognised by the distinct symmetrical pattern on the dorsal surface. It preys on crustaceans, molluscs and small fishes. Grows to 1.2 m.
