Distribution: Moderately common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Generally southern coast of Australia from Two Rocks Western Australia through northern Tasmania to Byron Bay in New South Wales.
Ecological Notes: Inhabits sheltered and moderately exposed reef areas. Depth to 200 m.
Additional Notes: Eye catching mosaic pattern of pale through to orange ridges encircling clusters of red, sometimes purple, papules. Feeds on sponges. Grows to diameter of 240 mm.
