Pagurus sinuatus
(Stimpson, 1858)

Distribution: Uncommon in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Ranges northern New South Wales south to the Victorian border.

Ecological Notes: Frequents intertidal exposed rocky areas to at least 20 m depth.

Additional Notes: Right claw somewhat flattened and much larger than the left. Both claws are covered in fine, dense hairs. Mottled and banded in cream, violet-brown and orange, the eyestalks have an orange band about mid-length. It inhabits rounded gastropod shells and reaches a shield length of around 15 mm.
