Elysia ornata
(Swainson, 1840)

Distribution: Relatively common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Circumtropical distribution, recorded from the Indo-Pacific region, the Red Sea and the Caribbean.

Ecological Notes: Reported to feed on the green hair like algae, Bryopsis sp. Depth to at least 10 m.

Additional Notes: Usually a translucent green colour with a black parapodial margin and an orange submarginal band, the body covered in fine black and white dots. Specimen pictured found in shallow rock pool, approximately 15 mm long. Known to reach at least 37 mm length.
