Echinaster colemani
(Rowe and Albertson, 1987)

Distribution: Not common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Known from eastern Australia, Moreton Island in Queensland south to Ulladulla in southern New South Wales, and including Norfolk and Lord Howe Islands.

Ecological Notes: Prefers deeper water, offshore reefs. Depth from 15 to 77 m.

Additional Notes: Five long plain red-brown arms, with yellow papulae. One of the rarer large seastars, grows to about 140 – 150 mm.
