Distribution: Distribution and abundance unknown in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Recorded in the Hawaiian and the Galapagos Islands in the Pacific Ocean and the Maldives in the Indian Ocean. In Australia recorded from the Great Barrier Reef, northern New South Wales, and Middleton and Elizabeth Reef.

Ecological Notes: Thought to be commensal on Pocillopora spp. and Acropora spp. corals. 

Additional Notes: Mottled cream and brown body, dark brown pincers. Lives in a pit it induces in the coral host. Larger specimen in photographs has carapace width of around 15 mm.
