Common Name: Box Crab
Distribution: Rare in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Members of the genus are distributed throughout the Indo-Pacific region. In Australia this species recorded from northern Western Australia across the north of the continent, the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland south to northern New South Wales. This record possibly southernmost in Australia.
Ecological Notes: Photographed in boulder reef area, depth approximately 13 m.
Additional Notes: A cryptic species that remains largely undetected. Specimen in photograph approximately 60 mm across.
