Distribution: Seasonally common particularly around the northern areas of the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Widespread and common in the Indo-West Pacific, reported from the Red Sea, Japan and eastern Australia.

Ecological Notes: Found on rocky reefs from low tide to 20 m depth. Feeds on soft corals, and is locally often seen on the soft coral Lobophyton.

Additional Notes: The colour of this sea slug may vary from pure white to yellow, pink, orange or red. The branched processes on the sides of the animal are gills. The egg masses of this animal are white spirals, and often more visible than the animal itself, see top photograph. Grows to 60 mm.
