Distribution: Common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the Indo-Pacific region. In Australia from Shark Bay in Western Australia, across the north of the continent, the Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, south to Sydney in New South Wales. 

Ecological Notes: This species lives in symbiosis with hard branching Pocillopora spp. and other corals. 

Additional Notes: Honeycomb pattern over shell and claws. Usually a male and female pair is present, the female the larger of the two. A small species it grows to a carapace width of 20 mm.
