Common Name: Thorny Crinoid Crab
Distribution: Uncommon in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Recorded from tropical Indo-West Pacific region, including eastern Australia and New Caledonia, also Japan.
Ecological Notes: Usually found on host crinoids, this specimen was observed moving freely on the substrate. Depth to 59 m.
Additional Notes: Angular carapace, rostrum is bifurcated forming two horns and two shorter spines behind. Usually shades of reddish brown with highly variable markings. Specimen in photograph, carapace width 10 mm, grows to 15 mm.
