Distribution: Uncommon in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the Western Central Pacific and Philippines. In Australia recorded from southern Queensland south to Sydney in New South Wales.
Ecological Notes: Frequents rocky and coral reef, specimen in lower photograph at a depth of 18 m.
Additional Notes: The mantle and foot of this cowrie are coloured a bright reddish orange, papillae are tapering and with grey bands. The shell is pale fawn to pale bluish white, crossed by three interrupted brown bands. Sides and teeth are white or pale fawn and there are brown marginal spots that sometimes extend up the sides. Grows to 37 mm.
