Common Name: Doubleline Fusilier
Distribution: Common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the Western Pacific region: from Indonesia and Western Australia to New Caledonia, north to southern Japan, south to Norfolk Island. In Australia recorded from Geraldton north to Rowley Shoals in Western Australia, the Gulf of Carpentaria, the Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, south to northern New South Wales.
Ecological Notes: Schooling species that frequents offshore and inshore clear waters, coastal reefs and lagoons. Depth to 50 m.
Additional Notes: Dark tail tips and two narrow yellow stripes from behind eye, the lower one below the lateral line for most of its length. Often seen schooling near coral and rocky reef, frequently seen at cleaning stations near offshore reefs and islands. Feeds on zooplankton in the water column. Grows to 30 cms.
