Monoplex parthenopeus (Salis Marschlins, 1793)
Common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Known from Lancelin in Western Australia around the south to northern NSW including northern Tasmania.
Frequents shallow (to at least 18m) reef habitat.
A known predator of bi-valves, is regarded as a pest around oyster farms. Black and white markings around the aperture help in identification. Grows to about 150mm long.
