Monoplex parthenopeus (Salis Marschlins, 1793)
Common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Known from Lancelin in Western Australia around the south to northern New South Wales and including northern Tasmania.
Frequents shallow reef habitat to at least 18m depth.
A known predator of bi-valves, is regarded as a pest around oyster farms. Black and white markings around the aperture help in identification. Grows to about 150mm long.
