Common Name: Girdled Reefgoby
Distribution: Possibly common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the Indo-West Pacific region, from the Red Sea and Persian Gulf, east coast of Africa to islands of Micronesia, Fiji and Tonga, north to Japan, south to the Coral Sea. In Australia recorded from around Geraldton in Western Australia, north through the offshore reefs to the Timor Sea, throughout the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland south to at least Sydney in New South Wales, and including Lord Howe Island.
Ecological Notes: Frequents crevices and cracks in corals and rock. Depth to at least 70 m.
Additional Notes: Yellowish brown with conspicuous dark edged whitish bars on head and body, and brown spotting on dorsal and caudal fins. Small species with cryptic habit, not often encountered. Grows to 7 cm.
