Common Name: Blacktip Bullseye

Distribution: Abundant in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the Eastern Indian Ocean: Southern Australia. In Australia recorded from central Queensland south to eastern Victoria, and including Lord Howe Island.

Ecological Notes: Frequent coastal waters and islands, rocky reefs and ledges, often in large schools during daylight hours. Depth to 30 m.

Additional Notes: Golden yellow with distinctive black tips on dorsal, anal and caudal fin, black margin on anal fin. Schools congregate during the day and break up to hunt at night. Feed on zooplankton, crustaceans and cephalopods. Grow to 15 cm.
