Distribution: Uncommon in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the Indo-Pacific region. In Australia recorded from Queensland and northern New South Wales.

Ecological Notes: Frequents shallow reef areas where it feeds on octocorals of the genus Sarcophyton. Depth to 30 m.

Additional Notes: The animal has an orange mantle with papillae tipped in orange. The foot is white with a fine black border, the shell is a delicate white with a mauve to pink tinge. Inside the shell is coloured pink to purple. Smaller and much less common than Ovula ovum, it is found in similar habitat. Grows to 50 mm.
