Ophiarachna megacantha
(H.L. Clark, 1938)

Distribution: Found throughout the Solitary Islands Marine Park although not often observed. Known from Lindeman Island on the Great Barrier reef to South Solitary Island on the east coast.

Ecological Notes: Nocturnal species discovered under coral slabs and rocks. Depth to 40 m.

Additional Notes: Dark banded red arms with a dark disc around 15 mm across. Grows to approximately 160 mm diameter.
