Distribution: Rare in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Found throughout the Indo-West Pacific. In Australia recorded from the Queensland coast south to northern New South Wales.

Ecological Notes: Found in inter-tidal zones and shallower areas on sandy bottoms.

Additional Notes: Shell has smooth glossy surface, usually cream or fawn-yellow, with a fawn band in front of the sutures. Interior yellow-orange. Carnivorous, thought to prey on other snails and bivalves as well as actively scavenging animal material. Not often observed in the open, members of this family may leave a track below the sand as they search for food, often with only the siphon above the sand surface. Grows to 60 mm.
