Mexichromis festiva (Angas, 1864)


Sometimes common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Thought to be endemic to eastern Australia from Central Queensland to Ulladulla in southern New South Wales.

Ecological Notes: 

Found inter-tidally and to a depth of 25 m on gravel or reef edge. Feeds on sponges.

Additional Notes: 

This small dorid has a white mantle with either flat or slightly rounded dark purple spots. The mantle is edged with a gold line or series of gold spots. The foot has a violet margin. Grows to 25 mm.
