Distribution: Relatively common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Known from the Maldives, Indonesia and the Solomon Islands. In Australia known from the Exmouth region of Western Australia, the Great Barrier Reef, northern New South Wales and Lord Howe Island.

Ecological Notes: Frequents reef tops and slopes, intertidal to shallow subtidal. Depth range 10 to 20 m, more commonly 7 to 15 m. 

Additional Notes: Similar in appearance to Notodoris minor but with black blotches rather than lines. Feeds on the yellow sponge, L. primigenia and Pericharax heterographis. Grows to 10 cm.
