Distribution:
Uncommon throughout the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed through the Indo-West Pacific region. In Australia recorded from around Geraldton in Western Australia, across the north of the continent, the Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, south to Sydney in New South Wales. Abundant in the tropics, uncommon in New South Wales.
Ecological Notes:
Found on rocky sea shores and platforms, under rocks and in crevices between mid and low tide.
Additional Notes:
Shell with spire depressed, width greater than height. Columellar deck pustulose, particularly at outer edge. Exterior dull, black with whitish flecks or patches, often formed into two irregular spiral bands. Grows to a maximum of 24 mm in height, commonly 16 mm.
