Distribution: Uncommon to rare within the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Recorded from Western Australia, the Great Barrier Reef, northern New South Wales including Lord Howe Island, with wider tropical Indo-Pacific distribution likely.

Ecological Notes: Frequents reef from intertidal areas to at least 25 m depth. Feeds on solitary ascidians.

Additional Notes: Chocolate brown body with regular small orange or red spots, and fewer white ones. The rhinophores are situated on the sides of a conspicuous white cross shape patch. The gills are brown with a white patch around the base. Uncommon throughout its range, grows to at least 60 mm.
