Morula spinosa
(H. Adams and A. Adams, 1853)

Distribution: Uncommon in Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the Indo-west Pacific region. In Australia recorded from Exmouth in Western Australia, across the north of the continent, the Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, south to northern New South Wales.

Ecological Notes: Frequents coral reefs in shallow water.

Additional Notes: Colour variable, exterior usually cream or pale brown with brown spire and varices, aperture and columella usually violet. Members of this family are important predator on mussels, barnacles and other sessile animals. Grows to 30 mm.
