Distribution: Uncommon to rare in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distribution Indo-West Pacific. Recorded from Western Australia, southern Queensland and northern New South Wales

Ecological Notes: Frequents rocky and coral reef, depths from rock pools and intertidal to subtidal. Feeds on soft coral Sinularia sp.

Additional Notes: Variable colouration, from pale to dark brown, often with a network of large polygonal based pustules. Grows to 60 mm.
