Distribution: Northern Australia, south coast of Papua New Guinea and southern Indonesia. In Australia known from Exmouth in Western Australia, across the tropical north, south through Queensland to Sydney. Uncommon in mangrove and soft sediment areas of the Solitary Islands Marine Park. 

Ecological Notes: Occurs on the leaves and trunks of mangrove trees, 0.2 to 3 m above ground.

Additional Notes: Lightweight sharply spired shell, colour variable from yellow through pink and orange to brown, with or without brown pattern of stripes or dashes. Body whorl with 9 – 11 strong, narrow, raised, sharp spiral ribs. Columella smooth, outer lip thin. Members of this family feed on vegetable matter. Size usually in the range 16 to 35 mm in height.
