Hypselodoris sp.
(Stimpson, 1855)

Distribution: Not common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Found throughout the tropical Western Pacific. In Australia known from the east coast of Queensland and northern New South Wales.

Ecological Notes: Found on coral reef to a depth of 25 m. Feeds on sponges Dysidea spand Euryspongia sp.

Additional Notes: The background colour is creamy white. The mantle has a dark purple blue border, which extends into the central part. Around the periphery inside the purple border there are numerous small yellow spots. There are several colour variations but the gold spots in the purple border are constant. Grows to 50 mm. Previously known as H. godeffroyana.
