Distribution: Common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the central and western Pacific Ocean, Western Indian Ocean and Red Sea. In Australia recorded from Western Australia and the Queensland coast south to northern New South Wales.

Ecological Notes: Inhabits rocky and coral reef, in sand or on rocks. Often partly covered in sand. Intertidal to subtidal depths.

Additional Notes: Oral disc dark green, greenish brown to sepia, marginal tentacles smooth and pointed, green or pale greenish-brown. Discal tentacles papilliform and inconspicuous, similar colour as oral disc. Specimen in top photograph approximately 75 mm across.
