Common Name: Green Moray

Distribution: Abundant in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed through the Southwest Pacific region, New Zealand and southern Australia. In Australia recorded from southern Queensland to Shark Bay Western Australia and including Tasmania.

Ecological Notes: Widespread on coastal and offshore reefs where it inhabits holes and crevices in coral and reef.

Additional Notes: Colour is variable brown to green. Feeds on crustaceans and small fish. Juveniles settle at about 40 mm. Regarded as a pest by line fishermen. Grows to 1 m.
