Common Name: Maori Coral Goby

Distribution: Rare in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. The Genus is distributed throughout the Indo-West Pacific region, from the Red Sea to Samoa, north to Japan and south to the Great Barrier Reef. In Australia recorded from Exmouth in Western Australia, across the tropical north and south to Rockhampton on the east coast.

Ecological Notes: A coral commensal species, it is found among branches of Acropora corals, on reef crests and lagoons. Depth to 15 m.

Additional Notes: Greenish brown body colour with four or five narrow reddish bars on head, spots forming lines along the body. Found solitary or in pairs. Grows to 3.5 cm.
