Glaucosoma scapulare
(Macleay, 1881)

Common Name: Pearl Perch

Distribution: Common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed through the Western Pacific region: from Rockhampton in central Queensland south to the Victorian border.

Ecological Notes: Frequents coastal waters close to submerged reefs, rock ledges or rough bottom. Depth to 90 m.

Additional Notes: Silvery colouration with dark bar sometimes visible through the eye, black dot at base of dorsal fin. Occurs in small schools or singly, occasionally in mid water. Grows to 70 cm.
