Common Name: Striped Pygmy Goby
Distribution: Uncommon in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Widespread throughout the Indo-Pacific: the Red Sea and Persian Gulf, Seychelles through the Coral Triangle and Oceania to Tonga and Samoa. In Australia recorded from Exmouth north in Western Australia and the Great Barrier Reef south to northern New South Wales.
Ecological Notes: Frequents living coral in lagoons and shallow reefs. Depths of 6 to at least 40 m.
Additional Notes: Translucent with dark, almost black centre stripe with white dashes, small white edged black spot on tail base. Grows to 30 mm.
