Distribution: Uncommon in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the Indo-Pacific region. In Australia recorded from around Albany in Western Australia, across the tropical north, the Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reef in Queensland south to Congo in southern New South Wales.
Ecological Notes: Specimen pictured found in rocky platform intertidal area.
Additional Notes: The mantle is a mottled purple-brown colour. Papillae are very thick and fleshy. Dorsal surface of the shell is orange-brown with numerous fine white spots. Base, margin and teeth are orange-brown. Grows to 30 mm.
