Distribution: Common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Recorded from the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific region, including the islands of Hawaii and the Galapagos, and East and South Africa.
Ecological Notes: In the Solitary Islands Marine Park it is found in colonies of the cup coral Tubastrea sp. on which it feeds.
Additional Notes: Specimen pictured has proboscis extended and is feeding on a Tubastraea faulkneri coral polyp. The snail has recently deposited an egg mass amongst the coral colony (yellow eggs lower left of image). Grows to about 15 mm in length.
