Distribution: Uncommon in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Recorded from Australia and New Zealand. In Australia recorded from the east coast, southern Queensland south to Port Phillip Bay in Victoria.

Ecological Notes: Frequents areas of algae, known to feed on Codium sp. and lay a white egg ring. Specimen shown photographed in shallow rockpool.

Additional Notes: Dull greenish colour covered with fine black and white spots, the tentacles often with white tips. In common with other members of this Family, feeds on algae where it pierces the plant cells and ingests them. Often takes on the same colour as their food source making them difficult to find. Grows to 17 mm.
