Distribution: Uncommon to rare in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Found throughout the Indo-West Pacific region.

Ecological Notes: Often found near or under rocks in rock pools and shallow water to a depth of 15 m. Feeds on blue sponges.

Additional Notes: Highly variable colouration from green and deep blue to almost black. The gill arrangement is unusual being in a transverse line across the back rather than a typical dorid circle. There is a semicircular flap covering the gill opening which is characteristic of this genus. Grows to 16 mm.
