Distribution: Uncommon in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the Indo-West Pacific region, South Africa, India, Hong Kong and north to Japan. Recorded from Western Australia, Queensland, and Victoria. In New South Wales records from Byron Bay and Sydney.

Ecological Notes: Found inter-tidally and to 20 m depth on rocky reef.

Additional Notes: This dorid may vary in colour from pale yellow or orange to brick red.The translucent mantle with its vivid white veins appears rough textured and has a peppery unpleasant taste. The ribbon egg mass is bright orange or red in colour. Grows to 30 mm.
