Distribution: Common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Circumtropical distribution in warm tropical and subtropical waters.

Ecological Notes: Frequents intertidal rock pools and subtidal waters to a depth of at least 10 m. Feeds on algae.

Additional Notes: Variable in colour from mottled brown through dull yellow/orange to green. The rear half of the animal is broad and rounded, narrowing gradually towards the head. The parapodia (fleshy protrusions on the sides of the body which enclose the mantle cavity and reduced shell) are fused except for a short region in the posterior midline, where two small flaps form an inhalent and exhalent opening. The lower image shows the characteristic green edge on the foot of this family. A small species growing to about 10 cm long.
