Dendrodoris guttata
(Odhner, 1917)

Distribution: Possibly seasonally common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Known from the Indo-Pacific region generally, on the east coast of Australia south to at least Coffs Harbour.

Ecological Notes: Specimen pictured photographed in a rockpool. Known to tolerate silty conditions.

Additional Notes: Colour variable, especially specimens from the northern Indo-Pacific region where the background colour may be quite pale. Characterised by numerous black spots with diffuse white borders. Believed to feed on sponges. Grows to at least 50 mm.
