Cuspivolva tigris
(Yamamoto, 1971)

Distribution: Uncommon to rare in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the Indo-West Pacific region, from eastern Australia to Thailand, Indonesia and southern Japan. In Australia recorded from northern and central New South Wales.

Ecological Notes: Found from depths of 18 – 70 m, this ovulid feeds only on the gorgonian coral Euplexaura sp.

Additional Notes: The mantle of this ovulid is a delicate orange with black stripes bordered with white. The foot is orange with black spots. The siphon is orange and the tentacles are orange tipped with black and white. The shell is uniformly yellowish orange and grows to 15 mm.
