Distribution: Specimens have been recorded from the offshore islands in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the Indo-Pacific region. In Australia recorded from Shark Bay in Western Australia, across the tropical north to Montague Island on the east coast.

Ecological Notes: Found under rocks and in crevices on shallow reefs.

Additional Notes: The dorsal surface of the shell is tan with white spots in a distinctive seive pattern. The spots are visible through the thin red-orange mantle which has small papillae of the same colour. When disturbed the rear part of the foot may detach by the process of autotomy. Grows to 35 mm, typically 25 – 35 mm.
