Distribution: Relatively common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed world wide from tropical to polar regions. In Australia recorded from coastal regions of Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.

Ecological Notes: Attaches to hard or soft substrate, as well as other ascidians, macroalgae and mussels, man-made structures such as wharf pilings or ships hulls. Depth to 1376 m.

Additional Notes: A solitary ascidian with a clear or slightly opaque tunic, the inhalent siphon on one end and tending horizontal, the exhalent siphon towards the centre and facing upwards. Grows to 24 cm, the specimens pictured approximately 4 cm long.
