Distribution: Uncommon in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the central Indo-Pacific region. In Australia recorded from Ningaloo in Western Australia, across the tropical north, the Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, south to Angourie in northern New South Wales.
Ecological Notes: Frequents shallow subtidal areas to a depth of 18 m.
Additional Notes: Colour white or grey, with broad darker bands above and below midbody, overlaid with dotted or dashed brown spirals lines from shoulder to base. Feeds on worms, specimen photographed in shallow pool on intertidal rock platform. Grows to 30 mm, commonly 15 to 20 mm.
