Cnemidocarpa stolonifera
(Herdman, 1899)

Common Name: Orange-spouted Sea Squirt

Distribution: Common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Recorded from the Western Pacific region. Endemic to Australia where it is recorded from the Northern Territory, the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland south to Port Kembla in New South Wales.

Ecological Notes: Found in rubble or sandy substrates. Depth to 33 m.

Additional Notes: Bulbous pale or grey body with numerous bumps and ridges, often with pink or red highlights. The inhalant siphon at the side and facing downwards, the exhalent siphon in the centre facing upwards.
