Distribution: Common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. In Australia recorded from the northern half of the continent, from Shark Bay in Western Australia, across the tropical north, south at least to Jervis Bay in New South Wales on the east coast.

Ecological Notes: Frequents a variety of habitats, including rocky headlands, reefs and mangroves, intertidal and shallow subtidal zones. Specimens pictured photographed in tidal rock pools. 

Additional Notes: Recognised by the longitudinal yellowish stripes on the legs and body. Has prominent white spines on the claws.
