Common Name: Yellowfin Demoiselle

Distribution: Common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the Western Pacific region, Papua New Guinea, Coral Sea, Great Barrier Reef and New South Wales as far south as Sydney.

Ecological Notes: Frequents rubble and dead coral outcrops that are often situated in sandy areas. Depth to at least 38 m.

Additional Notes: Blue body with yellow margins and yellow dorsal, pelvic, anal and tail fins. Differs from similar Neon Damsel, Pomacentrus coelestis by having yellow along the dorsal surface. Retreats to holes and crevices in reef when threatened. Feeds on zooplankton in the water column.  Grows to 8 cm.
