Chromodoris aspersa
(Gould, 1852)

Distribution: Uncommon in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Known from the Indo-Pacific region generally, including South Africa, Reunion Island, Myanmar and Okinawa to the north and the Hawaiian Islands in the east. In Australia recorded from the Great Barrier Reef.

Ecological Notes: Recorded from rocky shores in both exposed and protected locations from intertidal to a depth of at least 30 m.

Additional Notes: White body with purple spots each surrounded by a characteristic purplish halo, mantle edge orange/yellow. Rhinophores orange, gills clear with purple spots. Specimen pictured found in intertidal area, depth 1 m. Grows to around 30 mm.
